WHO ARE YOU PURSUING?

Our schools may be the ones teaching sex ed, but our churches should be the ones teaching sexual ethics. In a world of mixed messages about what it means to be human, what’s your source of truth? When it comes to life and love, it ultimately comes down to this question: who are you pursuing?

EQUIPPING TEENS WITH A BIBLICAL SEXUAL ETHIC

This fall, we are inviting area youth groups to our second annual youth conference on Biblical sexual ethics: Pursuit.

Time and time again, we’ve seen that churches aren’t fully equipped to handle the conversation on sexuality. Parents are turning to youth leaders for advice, and many of those same leaders are still playing catch up as our culture changes too quickly. So let’s rewind the conversation and get back to the unchanging Word of God.

Will it be fun? We promise. Inspiring? Of course. But most of all, teens will leave equipped with biblical answers as they pursue God’s good design for life and love.

So flee youthful passions and PURSUE righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Something for the Parents too:

There will be an optional workshop for parents to attend on Saturday morning 9-11 AM while students are in the main sessions. This workshop will include an overview of what your kids are learning so you can better engage the topic of sexuality at home. You’ll get a chance to learn from fellow parents about how to address some of the most difficult conversations about sexuality, including LGBTQIA+ and pornography.

STILL NOT CONVINCED?

If you’re a parent out there, wondering if we will be giving an anatomy class lecture on the birds and the bees… let us reassure you. This is sexual ethics. Not sex education. You can imply a lot without explaining it… just think of it like an appropriately timed Hollywood cut scene. Whenever possible, we speak implicitly, not explicitly. And we always point back to God’s good design, rather than all the deviations from it. For too long The Church has only told kids what “not to do”, and we’ve left them without an inspiring vision for what God-honoring love should actually look like. Here at Across My Heart Ministries, we want to champion God’s good design for life and love!

Our Mission

Passionately pursuing God

Across My Heart Ministries equips the next generation with a Biblical sexual ethic. How? By passionately pursuing the heart of God with their whole life. That’s what purity is all about. When you truly understand that your whole life belongs to God, you want to honor Him with all of it… including your sexuality.

A few key distinctives about AMH:

We still use the word purity because we think it tells the full gospel picture of the impurity of sin and our need for Jesus Christ to be made pure.

We believe that sexual purity is for everyone because it is about more than virginity. It’s about our body and soul. So we should live with sexual integrity in every stage of life.

We believe God made men and women to complement each other, not to be in competition with one another. It shouldn’t be the “feminists versus the patriarchy”. We should be brothers and sisters in Christ, encouraging one another to run the race with endurance.
